# Recognition Timing

> Configure recognition frequency and interval independently of billing, for cadences such as every other week or every 5 months.

Recognition frequency and interval control how often a schedule-driven obligation recognizes revenue, set independently of how often the customer is billed. Most contracts don't need a custom cadence, but the two fields combine to express uncommon ones, such as every other week or every 5 months.
