This page answers common questions about whether DualEntry supports a specific capability. Where a capability is not part of the documented product, this page says so plainly and points you to the closest supported alternative or to your DualEntry account team. Does DualEntry support project accounting?

DualEntry does not have a dedicated project accounting module. Projects are handled as a classification, which is a dimension tag you attach to transaction lines such as journal entries, bills, and expenses. You tag any line with a project, then filter or group reports (P&L, spend, flux) by that project for granular reporting without adding accounts to your chart of accounts. Dedicated project accounting features such as per-project budgets, project billing, and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking are not part of the documented product today. If your team needs those, raise it with your DualEntry account team so it can be evaluated.

Does DualEntry support nonprofit (fund) accounting?

DualEntry does not offer dedicated nonprofit fund accounting features in the documented product. Standard capabilities can model some nonprofit needs: classifications can stand in for funds or programs, multi-entity consolidation handles related organizations, and the custom report builder groups activity by any dimension. Fund-accounting-specific functionality, such as net asset release tracking and donor-restriction enforcement, is not documented as available. For your specific requirements, contact your DualEntry account team.

Can DualEntry handle government contract types (CPFF, T&M, Fixed Price, OTA, SBIR)?

Government contracting vehicles such as CPFF, T&M, OTA, and SBIR are not addressed by name in the documented product. DualEntry’s revenue recognition strategies (usage-based, straight-line, daily pro-rata, and immediate) can model the economics of some of these arrangements, but government-contract-specific handling is not a documented capability. If you have a government contracting (govcon) requirement, confirm fit with your DualEntry account team before relying on it.

Can DualEntry auto-calculate indirect cost pools (Fringe, Shared Services, G&A, Overhead)?

Automatic calculation of indirect cost pools such as Fringe, Shared Services, G&A, and Overhead is not a documented capability. This is government and cost-accounting functionality that is outside the documented scope today.

Does DualEntry support indirect rates?

Indirect rate calculation, the companion to indirect cost pools, is not documented as a supported feature and is not in scope today.

Is there a timekeeping module?

DualEntry does not have a native timekeeping or time-entry module. Time and labor data typically enters DualEntry through a payroll or HR integration rather than a built-in timesheet feature.

Are stablecoins such as USDC or USDT available as a currency?

No. DualEntry’s currency list covers ISO 4217 fiat currencies only. You can’t enable stablecoins such as USDC, USDT, and DAI, or other cryptoassets, in Accounting Setup, set them as an entity’s functional currency, or select them on a transaction. Exchange rates are subject to the same limit, so you can’t store a token-to-fiat rate by manual entry or CSV upload either. Instead, hold the wallet or exchange account as a fiat-denominated GL account and track the token quantity in a statistical account. Post activity as journal entries, and reconcile the account against the wallet statement. For the full pattern, see Stablecoins and crypto assets. If you keep a crypto subledger in Cryptoworth, its balances are readable from Accounting Intelligence through the Cryptoworth MCP connector.

Can requisitions route through approval workflows?

Yes. In DualEntry, requisition routing is handled through purchase order approval workflows. Approval workflows support bills, invoices, journal entries, purchase orders, and sales orders. You can configure a purchase order workflow to enforce the same review and sign-off you would expect from a requisition process. That review happens before a PO is issued to the vendor.

Does DualEntry support single sign-on (SSO)?

Yes. Every user can sign in with Google or Microsoft by default, with no setup required. Any invited user can complete the invitation and sign in with either provider, as long as the account email matches the invited address. Email and password sign-in is also available. See Sign in to DualEntry in the quickstart. DualEntry also supports enterprise SSO with any identity provider that uses SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect (OIDC). Supported providers include Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Okta, Google Workspace, OneLogin, JumpCloud, PingFederate, and Microsoft AD FS. You can also use any identity provider on WorkOS’s list of supported providers. DualEntry configures the connection for you rather than through a setup page in the app. Contact your DualEntry account team to set up enterprise SSO. See Single sign-on for the full list of identity providers and how setup works. SCIM user provisioning (automatic user creation and removal driven by your identity provider) is not on by default for self-service. If you require it, raise it with your DualEntry account team so it can be configured. For programmatic access, integrations authenticate with API keys and OAuth rather than end-user SSO. What is the typical month-end close timeline?

DualEntry does not publish an average customer close timeline, because close speed depends on transaction volume, automation, and team setup. Close Management is built to compress the cycle through the close checklist, parallel tasks, period locking, and Bank Match AI. Where can I find the import templates?
