Tasks is a single board for everything your team needs to act on: to-dos you create yourself, and work DualEntry surfaces automatically from other parts of the product. Open it from the sidebar, or at app.dualentry.com/home/tasks.

Board layout and task kinds

Tasks offers two views over the same filtered set of tasks: Board, a kanban layout, and List, a flat table. Board is the default. The board has six lanes, matching a task’s status: To Do, In Progress, For Review, and Done are visible by default. Expired and Dismissed are collapsed under a “hidden columns” section you expand when you need them. Every card on the board is one of two kinds, and the difference determines what you can do with it. Custom tasks are the to-dos your team creates directly, through the New Task button. You can drag a custom task freely between any lane, and optionally assign a preparer and a reviewer to it. Accounting Intelligence can’t create a custom task for you; the New Task button is the only way to add one. System tasks are created automatically: Bank Match, Bank Connection, Anomaly Detector, Close Checklist, and Agent Run. DualEntry moves a system task to Done (or Expired) on its own once the condition behind it is resolved elsewhere in the product. You can drag a system task to Dismissed, and nowhere else. Dragging it to any other lane is blocked, with a notification explaining where to go instead to resolve it. For the exact fields on a custom task, the five system task types and what clears each, and who can create, edit, and complete a task, see Task Fields, Types, and Permissions.

Filtering and finding tasks

The filter bar narrows the board by task type, company, a created-date range, and free-text search across title and description. Two toggles are specific to you: Assigned to me (you’re the preparer or reviewer) and Awaiting my review (you’re the reviewer and the task is in For Review). A separate control limits how far back completed tasks show, so old Done and Dismissed cards don’t pile up. Sort by last updated (the default), created date, or title.

Agents tab

If you have Accounting Intelligence access, a second tab labeled Agents sits next to the board. It’s the same scheduled agents you’d manage from Accounting Intelligence, presented here as a card grid so you can create, run, pause, and review them without leaving Tasks. See How to Schedule an Agent from Tasks.
